    3. Jim, I know that you've had a reply, but did you know that the pronunciation of Boughton in Nottinghamshire is Boo-ton. The -ough ending in many English villages/towns has so many different pronunciations - -uff, -awe, -oo, -ow as in bow and arrow, ow as in cow, and just -er.
