Deaths were not registered in national records until after civil registration was introduced into England and Wales on 1st July 1837. All you are likely to find is a burial entry in a parish register and in the mid-18th century, when Thomas probably died, you are unlikely to find the precise date of death. Normally, all you can do is assume it took place within a few days of the burial.
