Hi Mavis Have you considered that Letitia & Thomas might be the children of Mary born before her marriage to Tebbutt especially if her age on 1841 census is almost correct? Have you searched for their baptisms under Beardall? if they are hers it is quite normal for them to take on their stepdad's surname. Just another theory to test...
