Thank you to John who was able to find George Tebbutt Cunnington and his wife and daughter Alice in Stepney in 1861, sharing a house at 12 Grafton Street, and for sending me the image, also for his further findings and constructive thoughts as to how to proceed. Also to Jean, Margaret, Heather, Lynne, (from Notts List) and Lilias and Janet (from Derbyshire List), for their suggestions. Jean suggested that the following might help others who were looking for lost relatives at this period: The archivist at Chancery Lane (many years ago) told me that in 1861 there was a mass invasion into the capital for the building work connected with the docks, the railways and the Tube. (Much as there is today for the Olympic Village) The Cunnington family were entrepreneurial and well connected and so would seize the opportunity to improve their situation. Thank you for your help.
