After many years of waiting (!!) New Zealand BMD indices are finally online and searchable. The website was launched by the Department of Internal Affairs earlier today. The good news: Unlike the microfiche indices for the period, the parents' names are included in births, spouse name with marriages, and age/date of birth in the deaths' index. Information available includes: a.. Births that occurred at least 100 years ago b.. Stillbirths that occurred at least 50 years ago c.. Marriages and eventually Civil Unions that occurred 80 years ago d..
