Mark, I am from Canada..but was in Newark four summers ago....The Newark Library, fairly small library with a Section of old historical books of the town. They have quite a few original books with records of years of the Burgess Rolls, Electoral Roles, Land Tax Assessments..unfortunately not online though...I went through a couple dozen books from the years early 1800s through to 1840s of so. I have a transcript of an 1811 Census done at Newark...only Mason I saw was a "Widow Mason" living on Water Lane as head of a family of 5 - 1 male and 4 females. Original Census is at the Nottinghamshire Archives. There are two Pilsworth families... William Pilsworth, 1 family cheifly employed in Agriculture on Millgate, 3 males and 3 females total; and A Pilsworth, 1 family chiefly employed in Agriculture on Stevenson Row, 2 males and 3 females. Hope that helps.
