    3. If you come across any NUGENT between the years 1860ish and 1930 please can you flag it up for me? I am still looking in vain for the father of David Richard Nugent born Jan 1916 who subsequently went to Worksop College 1928-1934. It is a long story. I know that his mother Bertha, b, around 1877 (later calling herself Irene) lived with her only child and died in Sussex in 1947. He was executed by the Japanese for an escape attempt in Malaysia on Sept 11 1942. This is the best I can find, after exhaustive research! I can find no marriage of his parents, no birth cert for him or his mother - ANYWHERE! Why the connexion to Worksop? Did Bertha marry? Was she single? Who paid for the college fees? I have been in touch with the archivist there and we have exchanged lots of info, but I cannot find any other atecedents for these two.
