    3. For clarification purposes, I believe: Mother's maiden name appeared in the indexes from the September quarter of 1911 Spouse's surname from March quarter of 1912 age at death from June quarter 1866 date of birth put into the death indexes from 1969. I didn't know that FMP (find my past) was the official GRO site, as far as I know they and others are merely licensed to provide images online. The GRO "official" partners have fiche copies of all the indexes, there are complete and up to date sets in several places: TNA Kew Westminster Archives Greater Manchester County Record Office Birmingham Central Library Bridgend Reference and Information Library Plymouth Central Library this provides a greater accessibility over the country than the old FRC-St Catherine's House-Somerset House days. Libraries and other local/county record offices were able to buy sets for events up to about the mid-1940s I think. All in all there are several sources of information. It's important, because without it you might go down the wrong tree so to speak. Once you have that you can determine their approximate date of births, then look on FREEBMD for a match, it's not easy when you search in what i call the grey area between 1901 to 1911 so it's important to get it right. If you need further help please don't hesitate to contact me or ask for more help via the list. Is Janny a nick name or her real name?. I am assuming Florence and Walter are no longer with us, if you know where and when they died we can find when they were born, please let me know. Good hunting. Their names! are Walter Harris who married Florence May Reed (daughter of Janny Reed) in the Mansfield Registration District. They married in 1922 and had Arthur E. in 1923 and Barbara M in 1924. This is as far as we have got up to now as it is a common surname and a blanket search has thrown up so many variable I have had to ask on here. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks Jan
