a PS: I forgot to add that I also checked the Cotgrave PRs (Phillimore) as sometimes a diligent vicar/curate will enter a marriage of a parishioner marrying in another parish. But in this case he didn't. So no confirmation there. However, I did notice several THORNTON marriages within a few years of the TB marriage so it seems likely that there was a THORNTON family living in the village of Cotgrave at that time. HTH Ruth
