    3. Family Tree maker, the most widely used family tree program, doesn't let you put in anything other than a date or the word "about" - then the date. Does anyone out there know how to put in the relevant qtr for BMD's? 3. I have just been inputting the same details into FTM tonight. If you enter something like Jul-Sep 1888 then it will turn it into Bet. Jul - Sep 1888 If you wished to extend the number of months (to allow for the 6wk allowance to register you could change the month span to say May-Sep 1888. That's what I use anyway. 3. Am using Reunion which is for apple mac computers only. It provides for an override of the date format, as well as allowing before after about etc. I use the override facility to put in (say) qtr Mar 1900, so that I can immediately recognise that the date is a Registration Date from (probably) FreeBMD rather than a known month and year from some other source. Point being that a registered date could occur many months after the birth and alerts me to a possible discrepancy in the age at death, which is automatically calculated by Reunion. 3. I use FTM myself and put in 'Abt March, June, September or December', I know this means that the event was registered during the quarter ending on that month. If I have any further information I include it in the notes for that individual. Obviously if I then obtain a certificate or find the exact date from another source, I replace the approximate date with the exact one.
