    3. Can SKS tell me the keystrokes on a US laptop computer for the pound sign. I know it is alt 0163 on a keypad but I have no keypad on the laptop. Many thanks, Carol

    3. http://support.prentrom.com/article.php?id=066 Hi, I think you can find your answer on this web site. I didn't read it all but it seems to explain what to do without a keypad. I have a desktop so don't have that problem. 3. Can you get, on the top line, INSERT ? If so, you go Insert, Symbol and then scroll up/down to get the pound sign. I have a similar problem. Although I have it marked on the keypad, I cannot get the Euro sign (nor the pound for that matter, though the $ is there! And I am English living in the Euro zone. I use either Alt + ...., or Insert Symbol! 3. Carol Depending on the brand of laptop, you will most likely have a function that make some of the alpha keys into numeric. On a Compac/HP laptop you would for instance press the "fn" key and "f8" keys. The pseudo keypad comes into play, and holding down the "alt" key and entering the 0163 sequence will produce the £ sign. Don't forget to clear the original function keys when finished. 3. I've been trying to do this for a couple of years, living in the UK I miss my £. Your solution doesn't work for my Toshiba, although pressing Fn, something lights up under F10. Nothing happens when you do alt 0163 though. Back to the copy/paste. :) Jan> Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009 12:59:36 +1300> From: barrycarlson@clear.net.nz> To: ghaycock@rmi.net; NOTTSGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [NTT] Off subject but hope you don't mind> > Carol> > Depending on the brand of laptop, you will most likely have a function that > make some of the alpha keys into numeric.
