Hello List, I am new here, I live in Australia and I am researching my ancestor William Hunt bapt 6 May 1783, St.Mary's, Nottingham, England. William was a Royal Veteran of Tasmania, he was in charge of a convict gang in Hobart Town, Tasmania, I have found information about a letter William wrote home to a friend Samuel Preston of Nottingham which was published in The Nottingham Review, 24 August 1827 about his journey over to Australia on the ship ‘John Barry’ arriving first in Sydney July 1826. I was wondering if anyone on the list may have access to this newspaper of the time, apparently it is available on microfiche, and could forward me transcript of the letter/s.
