Hi Everyone, Seeing the interest in Nigel's excellent solution to my problem, I thought I would forward my reply, just sent to him, to the List to add some texture to this situation. I have just tried to find this entry on Ancestry, and even with the information in front of me, can't find it. How did you find it? I would like to obtain a copy of the cencus image if possible. As for the wife's name, I know that my grandmother sometimes called herself Lily, and it used to make me wonder if there was another wife, but seeing as the wife's sister has the surname Meakin, Lily must be Eliza Hannah calling herself by another name. (Why, I have no idea). Another issue is that I have identified Elizah's sisters and none of them is called Mabel. Maybe Mabel is a sister in law. That remains to be discovered. Thanks very much.
