    3. Peter, Thank you for your reply. I found their marriage in the NFHS Marriage index in 1836, so no certificate. 9 Aug 1836 Felix James WHITE mar. Caroline AUCKLAND I haven't been able to check the actual register yet to see if there are any further details. Isabella Goodman WHITE was baptised in Oct 1837 and he used the name Felix James. I cannot find her birth registration. He is just James WHITE in the 1841 census [HO107 piece 867 book 8 page 29] and they only have one child with them, Isabella. And he appears to be just James when his death is registered in 1844. I agree he could have come from Lincolnshire and I'll explore that avenue after I've done my best to find him in Nottinghamshire. I keep hoping the name GOODMAN will turn up somewhere associated with James and Ann: at least then I would have something more substantial to grasp than simply James WHITE son of James and Ann - possibly :-) Rosemary ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On 23/02/2012 00:03, Peter R Booth wrote: > Rosemary, > > It's tricky, isn't it? 2. MAVIS JOHNSON
    3. I have an Ann White born 1799 married to a John Staten/Staton (could be Statham) born Wollaton, married 26 November 1821 at Lenton, later living in Radford. They are my 3 x gt.grandparents. The White family have been notoriously difficult to trace as this is a very common surname, but it would appear that they probably were linked to the waterways at that time and moving along the River Trent. I believe they may have lived in the Laxton/Southwell area earlier, but have no proof yet. I would be interested to hear from anyone else who may have these two surnames in their tree. Mavis, born Nottingham, now in Somerset. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rosemary Probert" <[email protected]> To: "Peter R Booth" <[email protected]>; "Nottinghamshire Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2012 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [NTT] Felix James WHITE > Peter, > > Thank you for your reply. > > I found their marriage in the NFHS Marriage index in 1836, so no > certificate. > 9 Aug 1836 Felix James WHITE mar.
