My grandfather, William Jennings of Retford, served in the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry in WWI. I have a studio photograph of 21 soldiers, one of whom appears be my grandfather. It is stamped on the back 'Ammunition Office Boulogne Dec 1917'. On the back are 20 signatures which appear to be - JA Jones, G **yant (Bryant?), L Dakers, W H Thomas, J T Madden, J R Maudling, W Studham, J H Buddens, H G Holt, G Turnbull, A D Spaull, R T Smith, W H Wakingham, Ern Creswell, C Butterworth, R H Hall, S C Barrett, J Bottomley, H M Yeomans, S G Hare. If any one thinks their relative may be on this I can forward a copy. With the photograph are several picture postcards of Boulogne sent by 'Ethel' and 'Effie' in Aug - Sept 1917 to Mrs R Cartwright, 108 Belgrave Road Wanstead. I have no idea who these are. They may be nurses as they have been on night duty. Bob.
Would sks please look up THOMAS COOPER PYETT, aged 40 years and probably a Baker by trade, in 1901 census could be Nottingham or Suffolk. much appreciated as always, Barbara

Many thanks, Mavis, Maggie and Christopher. I have had a look at the website and was told that there were no records of baptisms on that ship in that year. Oh, well - back to the brick wall :- ( I'll now try the Anglican Church in New Zealand - the record may have been passed over to them on arrival here.
