    3. Hi:   I'm looking for any connection to Arthur Albert WARD b 1876 in Kent and his wife Alice b 1875 in Kensington.    I was surprised to find them living at 10 Ella Road West, Bridgford in the 1911 census.  Although they'd been married for 10 years with no children, from Free BMD it looks likely they had Arthur Edward WARD in 1913 and Irene Alice in 1915, Mansfield district.   Family rumour (!) has Arthur as being quite wealthy - was that a relatively "upscale" area in 1911?   I believe they stayed fairly close to the area as Arthurs mother died in Coventry in 1951.   Thanks, Linda

    1. [NTT] Mary HUDSON in Basford 1911C or STRANGE
    2. Joan
    3. Hello. This is my first posting to the Notts list. From brief details in the 1911C there is an entry for a Mary STONE age 74 res in Basford. I do not have a full transcript. I would be grateful if anyone can offer any information on this lady. Is anyone on list researching the HUDSON name? Can anyone offer a subsequent death record for a Mary HUDSON in Basford, please? I've "lost" a Mary HUDSON nee STONE born 1838, Radnage, Bucks. I have her in all census up to 1901. She married Alfred J HUDSON 1866 in Grays, Middx. Alfred died in 1897 and is buried in Wycombe and by coincidence there IS a Mary HUDSON also buried in Wycombe. But the death certificate confirms this lady is not Alfred's wife. In 1901C she was shown as a widow and "boarder" in the home of Philip STRANGE in High Wycombe, age 64. I found 2 of her daughters living with an aunt in London. No record in freebmd for her death in London/Bucks. I could find no sign of her in the 1911C in London or Bucks. An "all counties" search with the right age (72/74) produced only 2 possibilities. Basford and Sheffield. Any comments or suggestions gratefully received. Joan.

Hi Ann Other parents to consider: John Towe - Catherine Hill marr. 24/08/1790 East Stoke Thomas Towe - Elizabeth Wickham marr.17/05/1779 Flintham These 2 marriages took place very close to Farndon whereas Thomas Towe - Ann Vickers took place in Basford, Nottingham. I will try a visit to Newark library for you and have a search of the parish records. Graham Williams
