Note: I've tried to number the Andrew's in this post to make it easier to follow which one is which, but honestly I can't tell if it helped the matter or made it worse. Suffice to say there are so many Andrew Norwoods (and Richard's for that matter) in this line they're hard to tell apart. The Andrew Norwood [1] I'm referring to was b. in 1703 in NYC, NY and d. in 1787 in New Brunswick, Middlesex Co, NJ (I have some conflicting evidence on location of death currently but I won't confuse the issue with that right now. It'll be up on the web site next month.) He was m. to Hannah (Vance?) and they had seven known children, John, Tobias, Andrew [2], Catherine, Cornelia, Hannah, and Mary. If I remember correctly, you're looking for info on the Andrew G. [4] Norwood b. 1812, d. 1879, that m. Mary Floyd Tallmadge in 1836. His *supposed* parents were Andrew S. Norwood [3] and Rebecca Oglivie. I've seen no source documentation for that so I can't verify it. I've seen Andrew S. [3] Norwood's birthdate on the LDS website put at Sept 11, 1770. *If* that's true, again I have no source documentation, then that would make Andrew S. [3] Norwood the son of Tobias Norwood, the son of the Andrew Norwood [1] I was referring to originally. So far, the only interesting evidence I have to support this linage is Andrew S. [3] Norwood's middle name. I've seen that S. spelled in at least a half dozen ways so I can't quite figure out which one is correct. But I have a theory. Mind you it's only a theory. I think that S. might actually stand for Sickels (or Sickles) which is the last name of Andrew's [3] Aunt Mary, sister to Andrew's [3] father Tobias if this linage is correct as stated. However, the interesting thing is that this theory also supports another possibility, that is, that Andrew S. [3] is the son of Andrew [2], instead of his brother, Tobias. That Andrew [2] I believe m. Mary Legget and the fact that Andrew S. [3] names his daughter Mary could mean that said daughter was named after her paternal grandmother instead of her own mother. Ugh.
