I have been helping my future brother-in-law with his genealogy. He is a desc. of Capt. John Norwood of Maryland (4 times!) I've done some research on trying to figure out who Anne Harrington Norwood's parents are and I believe they are James Harington, Baronet, and Frances Sapcote. The key reason I believe this is that John Norwood's sister, Frances, married John Harington (son of James Harington and Frances Sapcote) and also immigrated to Maryland. This is what I believe to be Anne's line of descent: James Harington and Lucy Sidney (of the famous Sidney family) had the following children: 1. James Harington (of whom further) 2. Henry Harington 3. Elizabeth Harington m. Edward Montague 4. Sarah Harington, m. Francis Hastings 5. John Harington 6. Catherine Harington, m. Edward Dymoke 7. Mabel Harington, m. Andrew Noel 8. Theodosia Harington, m. Edward Sutton 2nd Generation James Harington, m. Frances Sapcote (daughter of Robert Sapcote and ?). Their children: 1. James Harington 2. Edward Harington 3. Lucy Harington, m. William Faunte 4. Anne Harington, m. John Norwood 5. Eleanor Harington, m. Henry Fiennes Clinton 6. Sapcotts Harington 7. John Harington 8. William Harington 9. Robert Harington 10. John Harington 11. Henry Harington Most of the rest of the information I got from the Harrington Asssociation website: Date: Sat, 24 Aug 1996 05:10:14 -0400 From: "John R. I found in the LDS Family Search CD's: Anne Harrington (born abt 1612) married to John NORWOOD. Anne's father was apparently James Harrington The Children of Anne & John were: Andrew - 1634 Virginia Samuel - 1636 Virginia Phillip - 1638 Virginia John - 1640 Virginia Joseph - 1642 Virginia Susannah - 1645 Maryland < - - - - They moved Also I found the NORWOOD family linked from America back into England. I'll work on making that information available to you. ------- Other things I found is John Harrington father of John Harrington 1642 Pettitioner VA - Colony Virginia Edward Ake Hernden "Harrington" born 1651, Eastshore VA, Colony Virginia. John Norwood (of which there doesn't seem to be too many!) know about Anne Harrington's parentage. It'd be great if you could forward this to them; if not, if you give me their email addresses I could send it to them also. Kelly Selcher --part1_50.156112b4.2b2032f6_boundary--
