Hi everyone. I've been really encouraged to see all the traffic on the Norwood Family Page from family all over the world. I've been especially interested in recent queries from English Norwoods tracing their families in England. Because of other interests and activities, I haven't been very active in genealogical research for many months, probably more than a year, but recently I received an interesting e-mail from Ariel Hessayon about her proposed entry to the New Dictionary of National Biography of Capt. Robert Norwood, a soldier on the Parliament side in the English Civil War, that reenergized me. Jim Dempsey already studied the case of Robert Norwood because of similarities of his story with that of Francis Norwood of Gloucester, Mass., whose descendants still don't know his origins. I don't know that we ever will, but as time goes by perhaps more will be uncovered to help identify him. But this message is to let you all know that Pat Crewe has produced an index in three parts for Ms. Callam's The Norwoods III. As you all know, this book does not contain an index and is difficult to search for that reason. Pat's indexes solve this problem. I have gone ahead and posted the indexes on the Norwood Family Page. You can find them on the left hand side of the main page just above the buttons for the various areas of the website. You can open them right from the main page. If you don't have the Norwoods III, but would like me to check an indexed item, I will be happy to do so. I hope others with the book might volunteer to do so too. That's all. I hope you are all well and continuing to try to find your Norwood ancestors and relatives. If you have any new discoveries to share, please do, here on our mailing list. If you want to add data or articles to the Norwood Family Page, please let me know. If you can, identify your earliest known ancestor--in the US, your immigrant ancestor. Thanks very much.
