Irene, Since I have had sickness and death in my family also I have not kept up with everybody's line as I have in the past. Where did your Norwoods live and who was your oldest know ancestor? I descend from Theophilus Norwood of Darlington, SC. My great, great grandfather was Lorenzo Dow Norwood, son of Zachariah. Lorenzo Dow moved to Perry, GA from SC. I sent my previous email when I'd belatedly learned about the loss of one of my cousins who I had been working on my genealogy with, and the loss of my father-in-law on the same day. About a week later I got a call that one of my aunt's had died and I needed to get on a plane to Europe. Unfortunately, my health ultimately prevented me from going and my Mom had to go on her own. The last couple of months have been one shock after another. We are seeing some preliminary results from the Y-DNA testing that was done on my uncle. If I'm reading what's on the FTDNA website correctly, it looks like the haplogroup is R1b1c and that they have values listed for markers 1 thru 37 so far. Of interest to note, the first panel of markers 1 thru 12 are an exact match for those of the descendant of Charles Norway shown on the Norwood DNA project results page. However, the second panel of markers, 13 thru 25, have five values that are different. Not sure what that all means yet, but I found it interesting. Definitely tells you why one needs to test for more than just the first 12 markers. Testing is scheduled to be finished around the second week of May. TTYL!
