Hello everyone. I'm so encouraged by Irene's recent post and all the responses. I have just written a response to an individual who wrote me directly, but I thought I would just post instructions for ordering a test from FTDNA here as well. Understand that you can be tested by any number of other companies. I used FTDNA and it is through them that we have the Norwood Y-DNA project and our pages at World Families. If you are able to order a test for a male with the surname Norwood (and you choose FTDNA) follow the instructions below: I would suggest the 37-marker test, the minimum really for meaningful results. As a member of the Norwood Y-DNA group, you will pay $189.00. This is reduced from the $259.00 price for non-group orders. Go to the homepage for FTDNA: https://www.familytreedna.com/default.aspx Click on "Projects" Click on "N" under "Y-DNA Surname Projects" Scroll down to "Norwood" Click on the link Fill out the form and select the Y-DNA37 test in the drop-down menu. Thanks again for investigating this and being willing to give it a try. The more people who participate, the greater the chance that we will be able to sort out our ancestries and understand the origins of the various Norwood lines. We might eventually break through some of those brick walls! Best regards, Dick Norwood P.S. If you haven't been there yet, please go to the Norwood DNA Project website at World Families. The address is: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/n/norwood/ Our project is still small, but the results have been interesting and surprising. When you get there you can explore the various pages listed at the top of the welcome page. "Results" will take you to a chart of our current participants, showing their haplotypes and groupings so far.
