    3. Hi Lucy, As a member of the Norwood Y-DNA group, you will pay $189.00 for the 37 marker test. This is reduced from the $259.00 price for non-group orders. So far, we only have participants from the Theophilus line. I have waited to see if any other descendants of William Norwood join up. I am aware of the doubts about Theophilus I's origins, so finding someone from another line with a better paper trail to immigrant William Norwood would be very good. It might settle that question once and for all. It is interesting that Theophilus's descendants are in haplogroup I and other Norwoods, so far, are in haplogroup R1b. I am really eager to see more Norwoods participate in the project. Best, Dick Norwood Lucy Gray wrote: > Dick, > > William Felton Norwood is from my line. The sister of his grandfather and my grandmother established our line back to William through his son Edward to Theophilus I and II. This was for the DAR . Do we have any other DNA's from William's other sons? If we could get one proven line back to William it would help. Some have questioned our line in the past. > > There is a Norwood family here in the Pensacola area but I don't know what their line is. The wife works in the bank I use. How much is the 37 marker test now? I'll see if he is interested. 3. When I attended several Norwood reunions some years ago there were a good many other lines represented. Some lived in NC and some in SC. Is there some place we could put a notice asking for volunteers? Do we have a fund in case some one is willing but doesn't have the money to take the DNA at his time? 3. We can start a fund. I haven't been able to donate to it yet, but I keep meaning to put a little something there to start and add to it. If anyone has the means and desire to contribute to the general fund of the Norwood DNA Project, let me know and I will provide instructions. Volunteers would be great too, but I haven't been successful in contacting people in the William Norwood lines recently. I tried to contact Leland Norwood of California who has done a lot of research in this line without success. The Maine/Mass Norwoods I have identified and contacted aren't interested in or able to spend that kind of money for this effort. There isn't much genealogical interest there, usually. I want to refine my own tests further but haven't been able to justify the expense recently.
