Hello everyone. I was just up to Rockport, Mass. last week and poked around. I wasn't able to do any Norwood genealogy, but I did stop in at Sandy Bay Historical Society and found a photo of an elderly Ebenezer Pool there. I talked to the curator on duty who is a Tarr descendant and seemed to know a lot about the early local families. I didn't have enough time. What I am really writing about is not related to Norwood genealogy, but I didn't know where to post this. I have received several e-mail messages with an attachment. One was addressed to Dear One, others differently. They all contained the message (roughly): I send this attachment to get your advice. They come from various sources--one was a legitimate correspondent, so I downloaded the file, which was one I had sent her myself, but had the extensions ....doc.pif. There was another message wth another final extension, which I can't remember. Does anyone know if these are a new virus or what might be happening here? It's almost as if someone had accessed my e-mail attachments and was resending them to me in another form from various addresses. The attachment that I downloaded opened in Word 97, but wasn't useable. The download process was odd and then there was a message that my hard drive didn't have enough space and that I should free up space, which is absurd because I have used only a small fraction of my hard drive. Any thoughts? Any knowledge? Thanks all. Hope your summer is going well. Sorry for the off-topic message. Best, Dick Norwood
