I would like to ask if any member or the list, or anyone on the list knows if any male Norwoods have had their DNA tested. I have personaly done this with my Dempsey cousins with fascinating and unexpected results. I would think it be very useful and instructive if we can get a descendant(s) of George Norwood (1676-1749) of NC, Richard Norwood (c.1680-1731) of I. of Wight, Edward (c.1662-1690+) of Chowan co NC to get results. This would go a long way to addressing the Captain John, Theophilus, Samuel, etc. etc. connection issues. And of course Norwoods from Capt. John of Annapolis MD. As for Norwood of massachusetts, if would be a BIG help to us to confirm/reject connection to any/all 'southern' Norwoods. I have used www.familytreedna and think they are doing a good job. The databases will accept results other labs. There would be a discount for getting tested for a NORWOOD name study.
