Jim, I know of a male descendant of Lorenzo Dow, son of Zachariah, son of Theophilus. I will send him a copy of your e-mail. I would be so happy if the Norwoods would do this. Do you know what the costs would be for a Norwood family project? Also we would want to start out with a higher than 12 count test, don't you think? I have personaly done this with my Dempsey cousins with fascinating and unexpected results. I would think it be very useful and instructive if we can get a descendant(s) of George Norwood (1676-1749) of NC, Richard Norwood (c.1680-1731) of I. of Wight, Edward (c.1662-1690+) of Chowan co NC to get results. This would go a long way to addressing the Captain John, Theophilus, Samuel, etc. etc. connection issues. And of course Norwoods from Capt. John of Annapolis MD. As for Norwood of massachusetts, if would be a BIG help to us to confirm/reject connection to any/all 'southern' Norwoods. I have used www.familytreedna and think they are doing a good job. The databases will accept results other labs. There would be a discount for getting tested for a NORWOOD name study. Please let me/us know if you know Norwoods who are not on the list who have DNA results they would be willing to contribute. Thanks.
