Hello Norwood's: Are any of you related to JOHN MANGUM BRANCH b. 12-16-1813 in or near Northampton County, NC? He was the son of John Thomas Branch, b. after 1780 and died before 1847 on Northampton, NC . and Emily Bynum, b. after 1790 , Southampton, Virginia. She died in Northampton, NC. but I have no idea of the dates. I have only found two sons for this couple...John Mangum and Thomas. Have no dates on Thomas. The parents of John Thomas Branch were JOHN BRANCH, born before 1750 in Southampton, NC and Mary Bowen, born 1741 in Southampton , NC and died 1800, Northampton Co., NC Other ancestors were: Benjamin Branch born Isle of Wright, BA. before 1705, died before 1770, Northampton, NC. Wife unknown. Francis Branch b. about 1670, Isle of Wright, CA, died 1720, Isle of Wright VA. Wife, Elizabeth NORWOOD, born 1682 Isle of Wright, d, 1750, Isle of Wright, VA. I'm trying to find his parentage - right now the assumption is that his parents were Tobias Norwood and Christian Lester. Although it looks logical, I would like to establish some documented support for this assumption - and then find out more about Tobias.
