Irene, The research of some of the southern Norwood family members shows there is no real proof that Lydia was a Jordan. Someone pick up that name because a Mr. Jordan left something in his will to one of the Norwood sons. I don't have my material in front of me so I don't have the names before me. Being 77 I don't remember names like I used to. Lucy ----- Original Message ----- From: icefox To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 28, 2008 3:37 PM Subject: Re: [NORWOOD] HELLO!! John M and ancestors Clarification possibly needed? Notice the spelling. There is an Isle of Wight, England and an Isle of Wight County in Virginia but as far as I know neither is spelled with an "r" as you have it here nor is there an Isle of "Wright" in "CA" as listed after Francis Branch (not sure what "BA" stands for as listed after Benjamin Branch). Elizabeth Norwood is apparently the daughter of William Norwood and Lydia Jordan (dates appear to be off a bit however) but I'm not sure how much this group knows about the Branch family vs the Norwood side of things. Not my family line so sorry I can't be of any help just thought I'd chip in on a few facts you might want to check on. Happy researching! That's why I said "apparently" these were her parents names. I've seen it reported several places as Lydia Jordan, but like I mentioned, you can't believe everything someone else tells you about a family line. Got to do your own research. And I'm not sure age has much to do with not remembering names. I'm in my forties and some days I feel pretty good if I can remember my own name, let alone anyone else's! :) Irene
