Hello Listers, Someone responded to my earlier post regarding use of birthdates. I post the year only of those whom I expect that are living. Once in awhile I let one slip by that someone has sent me in gedcom format. I also try to keep even the yob off one who is younger than 50 !? Why do I do it my way? Lots-a-crooks out there collecting information that can be misused in credit card and other fraud. YOB, POB, and mother's maiden name are used by banks and credit card businesses, etc. We genealogists just do not have a need for the birthdate of ANYONE born past 1900! We should pick up that policy of the Census Bureau - do not release info that is not over 70 years of age. BTW, I responded to that person DIRECTLY, rather than doing a "REPLY" to that message. When YOU "reply," you just add clutter to the Digest. Waymon Griffin
