I am trying to trace my husbands roots for him. The things we know for a fact are that his father was born in 1932 to James Norwood and Donie Callie CARTER in McComb MS. It has been rumored that both of their families may of immigrated from AL and/or GA. I know that James Norwood died in the early to mid 1950s just before my husband was born. Donie Callie CARTER died in the early 1960s my husband remembers her she died in New Orleans LA and was buried somewhere in MS but he is unsure of where. Any assistance is appreciated I have No dates of birth but I am going on the assumption that they both were born sometime in the early 1900s. I checked on getting a death certificate in New Orleans but they have to be dead for 60 years (I think that is what someone told me) before they will release any information.
