I read your posting and wanted to offer a small bit of data for your further research. My mother is a NORWOOD. We have research to indicate that our branch was English, coming to America (Virginia) in the 1600's. However, we have alternate data to indicate an Irish connection, as well. The Mormon Church's IDI Index of the British Isles has the following proven data: 1) On 10 January, 1697, William NORWOOD m. Ann ARMSTRONG in Clones, County Monaghan, Ireland. 2) On 25 February, 1698, they christened their son, Theophilus. Proven by the same IGI Index. Avril, I don't have any idea that this is your line, but, I wanted to offer a bit of data for your con- sideration; you might want to try a descendancy chart through the Mormon Church to see where THAT may lead. My great great grandfather Edward NORWOOD was born about 1827 in Dunmanway and came to Australia in the 1850's where he married Mary Jane PAULEY in 1865.
