Kathy Norwood >> Hi Kathy, I too have a Norwood family in Arkansas: ELIZABETH NORWOOD, b GA- 1794, appears in the 1850 Census for Independence Co Arkansas, age 56, living with her son, WILLIAM age 23, also b GA and her son-in-law and daughter: Johnson and HARRIET Norwood Wright. Another daughter appears to be SUSAN, b 1831 in GA, m David M. Tucker in Independence Co Ark. William may have married Lucinda Autrey in Conway Co Ark. in 1883. An article in the Independence County Chronicle states that Elizabeth was a widow and had moved to Arkansas with the Wright family from Tennessee. The Wrights were from Dyer County TN, but I have found no evidence of the Norwood family there. In 1900 Harriet Norwood Wright lists her father's birthplace as England.
