    3. Hello, It saddens me that this has to happen. You have 20 years of experience and information you could share, but because of <one> person's attitude you choose to withhold such valuable resources from the rest of us? Please, don't judge all of us here by the actions of this one person, who obviously likes to stir up people's emotions for his own pleasure. I have been a member of this list for a little over a month and this is the first time I've seen anyone post such a note, and, yes, I agree that it was quite out of place here, or on any similar list. However, I have one particular key on my keyboard that gets used more than any other--the delete key. If I see something I don't like or offends me, I just consider the source and <delete>. True, I may not agree with your political views, as I'm sure I don't agree with a lot of peoples' and ditto for them. That's why I try to avoid those issues as a point of discussion (especially on mailing lists unrelated, and in person) and aim my pen at those who best need to feel its point--the politicians themselves! I truly believe in the power of the written word, if more people would just exercise it properly. Too many of us sit around in our pitty puddles pointing fingers at all the wrong people, wanting things to change or happen, but make no effort to induce those changes. We feel better by dumping on others, such as this person did with you. He must be a political writer, or was looking in the mirror when he wrote this. He seemed to exude everything he was speaking against! Anyway, please don't short-change the rest of us out of much needed data. My NORWOOD line has been a hard one for me to find things on, since it is an old lineage. I'm just now beginning to find resources on NORWOODs. Can you help? Thanks, Charlie PS: Tell me about your "rare coins" interest (but email me directly). I have a very meager coin collection, and I really wouldn't call it a 'rare coin' collection. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 09, 2000 8:04 PM Subject: Leadhitter e-mails > Dear NORWOOD kin... > I wanted to show you the kind of "informed" > garbage that has been sent my way since I objected to the anti-Gore > slurs posted here. > I'm not angry about the vitriol directed toward me personally...I'm > angry that anyone would allow political perjoratives to invade this > other- > wise useful genealogical research vehicle. > I really wanted to contribute some of my 20 > years of NORWOOD research and also to > share data with everyone. > Obviously, I've wandered into a room that > seems to be less-inclined genealogically > and more-inclined politically. > I will not be a part of this travesty. > > > > From: [email protected] > Message-ID: <[email protected]> > Date: Mon, 9 Oct 2000 17:52:21 EDT > Subject: You lose..... > To: [email protected] > MIME-Version: 1.0 > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" > Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > X-Mailer: AOL 5.0 for Windows sub 114 > > Great comebacks!
