    3. Hi! Here's a puzzle to spice up your new year. I received some info about a month ago that I've been scratching my head over and am hoping someone here can help. My question is at the bottom so bear with me. Here's the basic family line according to the Biographical & Genealogical History of Morris County, NJ, vol II article on *John Norwood*, pg. 611-612. 1st gen Andrew Norwood, b. England 2nd gen Benjamin Norwood, b. Essex Co, NJ m. Hannah Fairchilds children: Maria (1791), Rachel (1794), Joseph F. (1804) 3rd gen Joseph F. Norwood, b. abt 1804, Essex Co, NJ m. Bridget White on February 1, 1825 in Essex Co, NJ children: Charles Henry (1824), *John* (1827), Lydia Ann (1830) I have more info on the 4th gen but that's not where my question lies. [end of last page of article].... In his religious affiliations Mr. Norwood is a member of the Lower Montville Reformed church, in the work of which he has rendered material aid. Benjamin Norwood, the grandfather of our subject, was born in Essex county, New Jersey, and was a cooper by trade. He married Miss Hannah Fairchilds, of Whippany, Morris county. His father, Andrew, was a native of England, whence he went to Holland and became a Huguenot, subsequently coming to the United States and locating in New York City, where he acquired considerable wealth. Does anyone have any knowledge about this Andrew Norwood, the Huguenot?? It's apparently not the same Andrew Norwood that I've been chasing, who was also born in England (abt 1623) and also had a son named Benjamin. As that Benjamin was born in Barbados in 1668 and married Cornelia Van der Clyff in New York City in 1693. There is an Andrew Norwood listed as one of the first settlers of Staten Island, but those dates (1672 & 1687) appear to be much earlier than this Huguenot so I'm assuming they're my Caribbean Andrew. Help! I'm hoping some kind researcher who knows something about the Huguenots has run across some info on this line. I now have sixteen Andrew Norwoods in my database of Mid-Atlantic Norwoods and am long past starting to see double, I'm seeing alien produced clones. :) Thanks! Irene
