    1. Re: Ralph Norwood
    2. I have registered with e-bay and placed a bid on the Ralph Norwood book. The title and cover aren't very informative, but the price is very low so far. It was written for the German Airforce. Let's see what happens. Dick Norwood http://www.geocities.com/~rnorwood/tnfpexp.htm

    3. Hello List, I'm Carl Coffman In Wichita Kansas, and want to send a bit about my Ancestors, who show ties to your Surname and/or county in our records. So let me Thank you in Advance for your consideration. The Kauffman/Kaufmann/Coffmans were from Switzerland area, and came to The area of Penn State, to Land given to Lord William Penn by the Crown of England, in lieu of money owed Lord Penn, in about 1717. So indeed my ancestors are what was called Penn. Dutch. Two brother, David Coffman,b.1750 and Andrew Coffman,b.1760 came to North Carolina Terr. in 1781. This Terr.. become East Tennessee in 1793. The County and State lines changed a lot but when all was said and done, Andrew Coffman was in Grainger County and David was in Jefferson County. These Brothers Stay and Make a life in the middle of the Indian's and raised big family's. I'm in hopes some of you on list have some facts/stories, and know where they are buried and their farms were located in Tenn.. I know David died in Al in 1835, but I'm mostly interested in Andrew in Grainger. Thank you so much for your time. 2. Kitty: By 'here' I assume you mean in Michigan. No; I definitely know that my line of Norwoods did not start in Michigan - their origins are in Delaware. However, research has revealed members of the DE Norwood line migrated to Michigan in the areas of Wayne Co., Van Buren Township and Romulus to name a few. It is my hope to connect with members of these family lines. 3. Hi All! If I've managed to do this right, this email should be going to all the Norwood cousins I've been in contact with as well as to the NORWOOD mailing list in case there's some out there I missed. :) I was finally able to make another update to the web site this weekend. My health problems at the beginning of the year took a turn for the worst in April and have just now started to get better. I'm certainly hoping that will be a continuing trend as I haven't been able to do much of anything, let alone research since then. This update consists mostly of info I've had for awhile and just found the energy to put together in some kind of coherent format. Major updates: NEBRASKA - Update to info on Phebe Norwood Update to info on Louis Norwood Update to info on George W. Norwood NEW JERSEY - Update to info on Cornelius Norwood Added gen report on possible Norwood branch from England Update to 1880 census info NEW YORK - Added gen report on possible lineage of Andrew S. Norwood For those interested in Louis Norwood, I did finally get a copy of his pension file and the relevant info it contained is on his page. For those interested in George W. and Cornelius Norwood, I'm about 95% sure that we've got this branch connected in the right place. Which makes all us Northern Nebraska Norwoods cousins of some degree or another! I'd still feel better with more evidence though, so I'll continue to keep looking for more records. I also found more info on George's three brothers which is on the page for Cornelius. The two gen reports are in a different format than the rest of the web site as they are for research purposes only. I know there are others working on these branches so I wanted to be able to get up what I had found so far even though I hadn't made a solid connection to the rest of the line yet. If you need source documentation for a particular fact, let me know and I'll dig up where I found it. Let me say flat out that I believe the lineage in the gen report on the Norwood branch supposedly from England to be WRONG. For that reason I'll continue to work further on this line as time permits. I list it here as I found the info in one of the county history books in New Jersey. I suspect that we will find that if this Benjamin's father's name was indeed Andrew (I'm not sure that it was), that he did not come from England but was instead one of the Andrew's that we already know about in NJ or NY. I have a working theory on this but don't want to speculate to that degree. The lineage in the gen report on Andrew Sickles Norwood is *probably* correct but I have only secondary sources and circumstantial evidence. I have my doubts on some of the vitals listed and some serious questions that need answered. I'll keep working on it but there are just so many Andrew Norwoods in the various NY records that it is sometimes seems next to impossible to tell who is who. So until we find better source documentation, this lineage has to be treated as possibly suspect. As always, let me know if you have any suggestions, questions, additions, or corrections. I look forward to hearing from you! TAFN! Irene (new email address [email protected]) http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norwood/

    1. Strange e-mail
    2. Hello everyone. I was just up to Rockport, Mass. last week and poked around. I wasn't able to do any Norwood genealogy, but I did stop in at Sandy Bay Historical Society and found a photo of an elderly Ebenezer Pool there. I talked to the curator on duty who is a Tarr descendant and seemed to know a lot about the early local families. I didn't have enough time. What I am really writing about is not related to Norwood genealogy, but I didn't know where to post this. I have received several e-mail messages with an attachment. One was addressed to Dear One, others differently. They all contained the message (roughly): I send this attachment to get your advice. They come from various sources--one was a legitimate correspondent, so I downloaded the file, which was one I had sent her myself, but had the extensions ....doc.pif. There was another message wth another final extension, which I can't remember. Does anyone know if these are a new virus or what might be happening here? It's almost as if someone had accessed my e-mail attachments and was resending them to me in another form from various addresses. The attachment that I downloaded opened in Word 97, but wasn't useable. The download process was odd and then there was a message that my hard drive didn't have enough space and that I should free up space, which is absurd because I have used only a small fraction of my hard drive. Any thoughts? Any knowledge? Thanks all. Hope your summer is going well. Sorry for the off-topic message. Best, Dick Norwood

    3. Hello all fellow researchers! I have just finished setting up my genealogy web site with surnames listed and Gen Reports. Please note, if you find any info on my site that you feel may have been copied from data you have posted on the internet, PLEASE, let me know so that I may give you proper credit. When I first started doing my research I went at it rather blindly and without direction, and I failed to gather the source of the information I was gathering. Now I am having to backtrack and try to correct this. Also, if you have any information that could be added to the site, again, please let me know and I would be glad to post it, with proper credit to you. And if you find anything that is not correct, please tell me so that I can correct it. The surnames that I have listed are: ARUNDELL, BARNETT, BROOKE, CONWAY, DICKERSON, EATON, FORD, GOODIN HARRINGTON, HILL, HOWARD, JESSOP, JONES, KILPATRICK, MARTIN, MASON, MOORE, NORWOOD, PRICE, SHAW, STEIN, STICKEL, TRACY, VANDERGRIFF, and WARFIELD. Note, some surnames have very little information to offer as I have had a difficult time finding any data on them. Others have a good deal of info. Please let me know if you think we have any connections. The URL is: http://www.geocities.com/pm28766/ Thanks! Charlie Moore
