If you need data on ancestors in the Inner Sognefjord Neil's database is great. His database helped a great deal in researching my ancestors. Thanks Neil, Terry Gaddis -----Original Message----- From: Neil Hofland Sent: Sunday, April 23, 2017 10:23 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [NOR] Greetings from Kneel Hi All, I just thought I would let you know I am still here and reading messages every day. I don't post anything because there never seems to be anything I can help with. If any of you are interested in the Inner Sognefjord you might want to take a look at norwayancetors.com. You don't have to sign in as it is open to all. Just click on Surames and start searching, learning, and using the program. You can't hurt anything. Remember all the spelling variations. Each Tree is a separate database. Almost all of the individuals from existing bygdeboks have been entered at least down to the emigrants. Balestrand has only one updated bygdebok so two thirds of the gards in Balestrand are only in the circa 1930's volume written by Laberg. I did the best I could with Laberg (who was a genius) and it is pretty good. The Norum parish in Sogndal doesn't have a bygdebok yet, so the Norum people are missing. Then we have Lars and Luster. I am on page 469 of volume 11 and will finish it in a few months. Then I have to wait for volume 12 that Lars is working on now. Give him all the help you can. His bygdeboks are a remarkable achievement. I am just hoping he finishes volume 12 and the kommune publishes it while I am still alive. :-) (I'm pushing 83.) So, greetings to all.
