I use PAF and recently updated to Windows 10. After the update my PAF seemed to be gone, so I bought another copy off ebay and installed it. I can now access my PAF files for viewing but I can’t add to them or edit them, when I open the I get the message, “This file cannot be opened for read-write access.” Is there any way to change this so that I can continue to add and edit information? Thanks, Garth Sent from Mail for Windows 10
Garth -- I cannot find the way in the Control Panel in Win10, after the last update, but in doing a search, I found this. Maybe it will help, but I am not sure if Win10 works the same way --- 1. Right-click the file or folder icon. 2. Remove the check mark by the Read Only item in the file’s Properties dialog box. The attributes are found at the bottom of the General tab. 3. Click OK. Right click on icon, at the bottom of the menu that pops up it says Properties, click on Properties, the window that opens should be at the first General page. Look at the bottom, and if Read Only is checked, uncheck it. Click OK , Apply, it should close and you should be able to open and use the file. Hope that works for you.
