Too bad they are not mentioned…But may we hope that some of the other obituaries will also show up to tell more about the family? Thanks again for your great assistance in this matter! 3. Dear Wanda and other Listers! Thank you very much, Wanda, for sending me Hans Johnson’s obituary! It included some very interesting and valuable information! Yesterday I talked to the local Historical Society in Hamlin Co., SD, but they have found no obituaries at all, and the local newspaper wasn’t started till the 1940’s! I also talked to the Clerk of Courts office, and they found probate records for both John T. Lee and Ole England. The latter showed that Ole England indeed owned land in Hamlin Co., SD, so he must have settled there some time after 1900 and prior to his death in 1909. He was widowed, and his only heir was his daughter Susan Johnson! Still I would be quite interested the obituaries for: >> * Ole ENGLAND, born in Sogndal, Norway July 7, 1829, died at Hayti, SD Dec. 7, 1909 >> >> * Synneva «Susan» JOHNSON (nee England), born in Iowa Co., WI June of 1862, died at Hayti, SD June 9, 1945 >> >> * Christine SHELSTA (nee Lee), born in Lom, Norway Aug. 8, 1853, died at Watertown, SD May 17, 1933, but used to reside at Hayti, SD Thanks again for your great assistance in this matter! It is so very much appreciated! Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
