Hello Bev, The minister is talking in plural all the time (see other pages) like: husmandsfolk, gaardmandsfolk. So I suppose it's plural for Inderst. Or like Clark means: Inderst-far by whom the father is meant. However these are just suggestions, I do'nt know exactly. I noticed the same tendency for plural forms, which is why I asked the question. I think your suspicion correct: it is a plural form (at least for this particular writer). As I just noted in the email to Clark, it has to be Inderst, with or without the ar, because with the birth of the next child the word is definitely Inderst and they are living on an under-farm. In America the spelling is Voxland; the name came with another family associated with this one.
