    3. Has anyone ever encountered something like this? Anton and Ingeborg were married 25 March 1879, their daughter, Inga Antonsdatter, was born 12 April 1879. The passenger list for 30 May 1879 has Anton, then his sister's name and age (even showing her married!) as the next entry, destination New York for each, and nowhere close to her parents is baby Inga Antonsdatter, destination Menomonie Wisconsin. Worse: I can't find an utflytting record for them. If it's there, I've missed it for lack of sleep (and the handwriting is really bad). Anton did, in fact, have a younger sister named Oline who was about the right age for the emigration list. I'm wondering if tickets were purchased for Anton and Oline originally, but then Anton and Ingeborg got married and they didn't change the name and age for Oline on Ingeborg's ticket (Ingeborg was three years older than Anton). Inga's ticket would then have been an after-thought and purchased at the last minute, which may account for why she ended up elsewhere on the passenger list. I know these should be the correct people, and can definitively say the record for Anton and Inga are valid for sure - except the family didn't go to Wisconsin; they went to Dakota Territory where they were living in Traill County by the 1900 US census. The 1900 US census info has Anton, Ingeborg, and Inga all arriving in the US in 1879. 3. Bev, I have no idea if it is the mother of Inga, but I noticed an Ingeborg Olsen, also going to Menomonie Wis., at the bottom of the page with the baby - though she was more than 3 years older than Anton & unmarried, so maybe just the name in common. 49434 Oslo 1690 1879 Mai 30 Ingeborg Olsen f u 28 øier Menomonie Wis. 6966 Norge Betalt Hero Did the sister also immigrate? Have you found them entering the US or Canada? They may have gone to Wisconsin first and then moved to Dakota. 3. Apparently most of Anton's siblings did emigrate. I found the Find-A-Grave link for him and Oline is listed as dying in Cass Co., ND, his parents and siblings are listed. [I knew the Thorstad name was familiar! One of them lived in Clearwater County, Minnesota, next to where I was born and raised in Polk County.] https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=38078418 Bev On 5/4/2017 12:59 PM, Annette Bowen wrote: > Bev, > I have no idea if it is the mother of Inga, but I noticed an Ingeborg > Olsen, also going to Menomonie Wis., at the bottom of the page with > the baby - though she was more than 3 years older than Anton & > unmarried, so maybe just the name in common. > 49434 Oslo 1690 1879 Mai 30 Ingeborg Olsen f u 28 øier > Menomonie Wis. 6966 Norge Betalt Hero > > Did the sister also immigrate?
