Thank you Lisbeth. I interpret that to mean he was buried at the Buxnæs church in Lofoten. (I found translations of everything from pigeonfest to pit attached, to finally grave attached) :-) Seems strange to bury him so far away. I tried to look in the Buxnæs church records (Buksnes sokn?) to see if there might be a record of the burial there with a reason, but they only go to 1748. I guess I will never know why he was buried there.
