Dear Listers! I have tried for many years to figure out what happened to this couple in the US: Jens Hermundson Kinserdahl, born in Hafslo parish, Luster Co., Norway Sep. 26, 1829, married in Hafslo May 3, 1853 to Martha Pedersdotter Skagen, born in Luster Co., Norway March 1815. They emigrated in 1854, and under the names of Jens and Martha KINS they were pioneers in Buffalo Co., WI, moving in 1884 to a farm in Bartley township near Hannaford, Griggs Co., ND. Martha supposedly died in Griggs Co., ND prior to 1898, and in 1902 Jens is thought to have moved on with their only son and his family to a farm near Whitetail, Valley Co., MT, from 1913 a part of Sheridan Co., MT and from 1920 part of Daniels Co., MT. His date and place of death are unknown, but I presume prior to 1910, since he is nowhere to be found in the 1910 census! The son was Henry Peter aka Peter Kins (1859-1917), married in Griggs Co., ND July 23, 1890 to Betsey C. Gunderson (1858-1933), also farming in Bartley township, Griggs Co., ND until 1902 when they homesteaded at Whitetail, MT. Any information that can be found in regard to Jens and Martha and their deaths would be more than welcome! Thanks a million in advance! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Oyane
