    3. Willmar Tribune - February 27, 1907 - Page 1 Death of Emerson Adams. Emerson Adams, the well-known Green Lake citizen, passed from the scenes of this life on the old family homestead on the shores of Lake George, Tuesday evening, Feb. 19, at 10:30 o'clock, the immediate cause of his death being Bright's disease, at an age of sixty years. Mr, Adams was born at Chardon, Geaguga county, Ohio, in 1847. He came with his father and mother to the Green Lake settlement and located on their claim June 6, 1857, and has lived there ever since. In 1871 Mr. Adams was married to Miss Lucretia Erickson, who survives him. Two daughters were born to them, one of whom died while quite young. The other daughter married Osmund Sonderson, and Mr. Adams and wife have lived with their son-in-law and daughter for many years. While not very robust in health for the past few years. Mr. Adams was quite active until two weeks before his death when he became bedridden and sank rapidly. Mr. Adams was a faithful member of the Old Settlers Association and always took a great deal of interest in its meetings. Besides his wife and daughter, two sisters and a brother survive him. One of the sisters is Mrs: Jane E. Clark of Irving township. The funeral occurred last Saturday. Services were held in the Spicer Presbyterian church at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. Mrs. Lucretia Adams died at her farm home about three miles west of Spicer on Friday, January 6. after a year's illness from tuberculosis of the lungs. Mrs. Adams was born in Norway. August 12, 1837, and had lived in Kandiyohi county many years. Her husband Emerson Adams died about four years ago. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Osmund Sunderson and many old friends and neighbors to mourn her loss. Rev. C. E. Nordberg, of New London, conducted the funeral service on Sunday at the home at two o'clock and at the Spicer Presbyterian church at three o'clock.     3. Dear Mark and other Listers! I am amazed! Thanks a million, Mark, for such a quick reply to my latest inquiry about the obituaries from Kandiyohi Co., MN! They are very complete, except we don’t learn much about Lucretia’s Norwegian background… However, the 1910 census shows she emigrated in 1857 as did Lucris Eriksdotter Sonnesyn from Hafslo, born in Hafslo July 5, 1835. Lucretia Adams’ birthdate is given as Aug. of 1837, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she «lied» about her age as long as her husband Emerson was so much younger…!?
