    3. Dear Listers, This is one of the last great discoveries which our dear Daraleen provided for me in the fall of 2011, and the topic figured on the NORWAY list about the same time, but the "Brick Wall" remained unsolved. Now, with the new wonderful newspaper databases, maybe this problem can also be solved? Mathilda Christianson was born in Hof, Hedmark Nov. 23, 1874, emigrated in 1887 from Christiania She married 1st time in Grand Forks, ND Nov. 28, 1891 to Christopher J. Bjornthun, born in Hafslo May 26, 1861, emigrated 1879, lived at Grand Forks, ND where he died Mar. 5, 1894. She married 2nd time in Grand Forks, ND Mar. 5, 1903 to Mathias Martinson, born in Vardal Co., Norway Nov. 4, 1864, emigrated in 1884, lived at Grand Forks, ND, but were divorced prior to 1910. Then Mathilda "went west", and on Sep. 29, 1913 at Vancouver, WA ("of Multnomah Co., OR") she married 3rd time to one E. Ellsworth "of Multnomah Co., OR, aged 38, born MN by parents Connord Ellsworth, born Germany, and ..... Beach, born MN" Despite several attempts this E. Ellsworth has not been possible to identify. However, the marriage ended within few years, as the 1920 census shows Mathilda married to her 4th husband, J(ohn) W(illiam) Anderson, a sailmaker, aged 42 (born 1877), emigrated 1887 and boarding on 30 Angeline streeet in Seattle, WA. Mathilda Anderson died in Seattle, WA May 31, 1927 and was buried in a single grave at Forest Lawn cemetery. My main problem is to identify Mathilda's latest two husbands, * E. Ellsworth, and * John W. Anderson and, not to forget, John's marriage to Mathilda. Now I hope that these names will show up in newspaper articles between Portland, OR and Seattle, WA? Every little "bit and piece" would be more than welcome! Thanks a million to all of you wonderful listers who have access to the adequate newspaper databases and who is willing to search for these individuals for me? Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Oyane
