Dear Annette and other Listers! I am today coming back to my inquiry from last November regarding Arthur J. Hill and his multiple marriages in Washington state, i.e. I am actually today concentrating on the first two of his marriages: Arthur Joseph HILL, born at Everett, Snohomish Co., WA Sep. 5, 1893, married 1st time in Tacoma, WA Nov. 8, 1916 to ** Helen Jean COWIE, apparently born in Jefferson Co., WA Sep. 19, 1898(?) - the daughter of Charles Andrew Cowie (MN) and Ella Alice King (MI) - married in Seattle, WA Sep. 13, 1896 - Ella remarried in Bellingham, WA Jan. 30, 1908 Louis Ernest Hinkelman, born in OH Feb. 12, 1880, died Seattle, WA June 15, 1935 - he married again in Salt Lake City, UT Jan. 25, 1917 to Nona L. Harrington - Louis must have divorced Ella, and she may be the Helen Hinkleman "widowed" who 1920 lived in Los Angeles, CA! In June of 1917 (WW1 draft) Arthur Hill was married, ship captain, resided on 1414 5th Avenue in Seattle, WA They must have divorced shortly thereafter, and Arthur married again about 1920 to ** Harriet Ruth aka Hattie KRUGMIRE, born in Winona Co., MN Mar. 25, 1900 Very strange is: I cannot find any of these three persons in the 1920 census! My questions: **** Have I found the "right" Helen Jean COWIE? **** What became of Helen Jean Cowie Hill? **** Date and place of marriage of Arthur J. Hill and Hattie Krugmire? **** Where are these people in the 1920 census? **** Maybe the 1917 address for Arthur Hill in Seattle, WA can be followed up in later city directories?
