HI Reina, Thank you. I have seen instances when Norwegians and Swedes had passage from Germany. Reina & Don - Mange Tusen Takk! I've started to go through the 1851 ship's passenger lists for my gr-gr-grandfather, one of my three lines of Alsatian ancestors (the first two got here decades earlier) because I have no idea if they left via a German or a French port. Right away in the Edmund I ran across the mention of one man (#110), a J. Fr. Hammer, male, age 26, who was from Norway; it listed his occupation as joiner and the fact that he had three trunks. Not my family, but I recognize the farm-name-turned-surname because one or two families where I was born and raised had the same name, and one of the high school students a year or two ahead of me had that surname. With the added info of Don's link, I'm going to check for anyone from Denmark in later records. In April 1882 the emigration records for my gr-gr-grandparents and their four eldest offspring are noted in Danish emigration database as having an "Indirekte" route..., and I only know that by 1885 the Minnesota State Census finds them at the destination listed in Danish records (slightly misspelled in the Danish Emigration list, but I know where it is, it's well known among the family that's where they lived first, so the spelling wasn't an issue). I've been aware of this web site for ages, but never use it, so maybe it's time I did! :-) I appreciate you sharing the links! Again, Mange Takk! :-) Beste hilsen, Bev ----- Original Message ----- From: nukilik via <norway@rootsweb.com> To: norwaylist <norway@rootsweb.com> Cc: Sent: Tuesday, March 10, 2015 1:39 PM Subject: [NOR] Bremen Immigrantsships Hello Listster, >From a German List I got this information.
