Or that he and his wife returned to Norway and thus that is why they are not in the 1920 Census?
Hello Lars Here are Ingebrigt's naturalization papers (digital images) (intent and naturalization) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-35760-4633-63?cc=2091705&wc=M74Q-368:360535201,360543401 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-35764-18606-41?cc=2091705&wc=M74Q-46D:360535201,360554001 In the second he indicates that the was in Montana since 1910 - not much help :) Thelma
Dear Thelma and other Listers! Thank you very much, Thelma, for your continued efforts to find additional information about Ingebrigt and Augusta "Hilda" Melheim in Montana! From what you sent me last evening I read that Ingebrigt and Augusta settled in Dawson Co., MT in 1910, and it also says in one of the records that they in 1912 were ranchers at HORSE CREEK in Dawson Co., MT. I googled Horse Creek and found a tiny little place half-an-hour drive northwest of Glendive, MT with a couple of houses and what looks like a car cemetery... I have also been thinking of the possibility they returned to Norway and that Ingebrigt died there. However, if they went to Oslo, where they had lived before they emigrated, there is no death recorded for any Melheims in Oslo between 1917 and 1929! So, what happened to Ingebrigt, remains an enigma... Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
