Dear Cliff, It isn't quite easy, but in Norwegian it says: "Mistede af Uagtsomhed, ved Brugen af en [Taerske?]maskinn sin venstre Haand og doed som Foelge deraf 8 Dage efter af Koldbrand i Armen" "Lost by negligence, using a [threshing?] machine, his left hand and died as a consequence of this 8 days later from gangrene in the arm" Sounds painful to me...
