Dear Elise and other Listers! This evening (my time) I have been in contact with the Jefferson County Genealogical Society hoping they might be able to help me find an obituary for Helen Mae Melheim. I must have been on the phone about an hour, and the lady in Pt. Townsend checked out all kinds of records, but finally had to conclude the following: * No obituary has been published in Jefferson Co., WA for Helen Mae Melheim. * Her cremains were buried next to her mother in the Brinnon cemetery. * In fact we can find no proof that Helen Mae actually died in Jefferson Co., WA, and she's NOT in the SSDI! * Helen Mae may indeed have died just about anywhere, and her cremains were brought back for burial! I believe next step will be to trace siblings of Helen Mae's. If we're lucky, we find a nephew or a niece of hers, maybe thru her brother: ** Ray HARRISON, born May 14, 1917, died in Seattle, WA Jan. of 1981. Maybe his obituary can be found on GenealogyBank? If his doesn't work, I will try Lewis Co., WA next... Thanks again for your great assistance in this matter! Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
