Dear Annette and other Listers! Thank you very much, Annette, for your attempts to find Erick Hill's obituary in Portland, OR. Maybe they never wrote one... Could it be that Erick Hill just "took off" abandoning Emma, just like he "took off" from his first "girlfriend" in Minnesota when she was pregnant? I keep wondering about Emma. Regardless of Erick, Emma must have lived somewhere between her marriage to Erick in 1890 and her 2nd marriage to Herbert Davey in 1918, but although I have today spent considerable time looking for her in the 1900 and 1910 censuses, even in city directories, I just canNOT find her, at least not for sure! There are several Emma Hills in various city directories from the Seattle/Everett, WA area, but none that can for sure be identified as Erick's wife or widow! Is it perhaps possible to find an obituary for Emma Holte Hill Davey from Mar. 12/16, 1931? A Seattle obituary probably wouldn't tell us much, but since her family lived at Stanwood, WA and she's buried there, maybe a "better" obituary can be found in the Stanwood paper? Thanks again for your wonderful assistance in this matter! Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
