Do you know where they lived? Family search has the death certificated divided into 4 areas. Los Angeles (County I think); Los Angeles, Long Beach; Los Angeles, Los Angeles (Just the city); Los Angeles, Pasadena. Wait, here they are in 1932. This is in the Florence-Graham district. http://tinyurl.com/lg4vsgq Swenson Geo (Lena) retired h 8717 Bandera It might help narrow the search, but I’m really not sure how the death certificates are organized. They seems to cover a wide range of dates and locations.
I have found them living at 8717 Bandera St. I am not sure where it is. I have seen that it is in Watts area of Compton, in an area called San Antonio and I have found that address in an area that looks like regular Los Angeles so I am feeling discouraged. It sometimes helps to look in the Family Search catalog of microfilms--they break it down better there. (When I'm "browsing" Family Search records online, I always first print out the microfilm listing from the catalog.) I believe that the death records for the period you are interested in are just on the county level, so you don't need to worry about the city. Here is the catalog of microfilm of Los Angeles County vital records https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=206588&query=%2Bplace%3A%22United%20States%2C%20California%2C%20Los%20Angeles%22&subjectsOpen=350031-15 and it looks like all the applicable death records are at https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/1131994?availability=Family%20History%20Library In the digitized records, I believe they are just going to be in the "Los Angeles" category, and then listed in groupings that you can equate to the microfilms.
